Your Impact

The funds you raise will make a difference

The donations you raise from this trek will enable Vision Australia to provide essential services for the Quality Living Groups and Vision Australia Radio to help people who are blind or have low vision live the life they choose.

Vision Australia Quality Living Groups

Provide emotional, educational and support services to people adjusting to the challenge of vision loss. They are an essential and practical service to support the emotional and mental wellbeing of participants, while connecting with others who share similar experiences with vision loss.

Vision Australia Radio

Is a community radio network that operates to address the information needs of people who are blind, have low vision or a print-disability across 15 radio services Australia wide.

Over 350,000 listeners access Vision Australia Radio monthly. The service is made possible by a team of 600 plus volunteers and a small team of dedicated staff. Operating costs are over $2 million dollars per year, with your funds raised from this trek it will support keeping Vision Australia Radio on-air, online and on podcast.

Our clients are at the centre of everything we do at Vision Australia

Like music teacher Beth Tonissen, 51, from Victoria who was diagnosed at age 7 with Cone-rod Dystrophy.

When Beth’s sight started deteriorating further in 2015 she reached out to Vision Australia to join a Quality Living Group.

Beth enjoyed the experience so much that she became a peer support volunteer which she continues today.

The donations from this trek will enable Vision Australia to provide important services for the Quality Living Groups and Vision Australia Radio, both of which Beth utilises as a Vision Australia client.

You don’t feel alone, you don’t feel isolated anymore. Yes, there are still challenges in life but you realise you are not the only person doing that every day, there are others out there experiencing something similar.
