I'm doing 100K Your Way
For those of you who don’t know, my Nanna Sue is legally blind. After developing cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration she has very little sight. The loss of her eyesight has meant a significant loss of independence, however, Vision Australia has supported her through the whole process with technological devices and assistance, safety measures for her home and weekly assistance visits, just to name a few.
There are so many things we take for granted. Day to day tasks are often difficult and demoralising for someone who once was so active and independent. The services that Vision Australia provide are invaluable. While it is all the more difficult, my Nan, with the help of Vision Australia, has not let her very limited eyesight stop her from doing the things she loves such as going out in the garden, to exercise classes, water aerobics and even to book club with the help of Audible or Vision Australia Audio Books.
This April I am doing the “100K Your Way” in support of Vision Australia and Seeing Eye Dogs because they have provided incredible resources and assistance for my Nan. Please, if you are able, donate to my campaign so that Vision Australia and Seeing Eye Dogs can continue to help millions of people regain their independence after losing a significant part of it.
We often take exercise for granted, but for someone who is blind or has low vision a walk or a run isn’t always easy. That’s why, to help raise funds to support people who are blind or have low vision stay active and independent, I'll be running or walking 100K over the month of April.
Please DONATE to my page now by clicking the DONATE button. Together, we can help raise funds to support people who are blind or have low vision keep independently mobile.
Thanks so much for your support.
