Seeing Eye Dogs: Bay of Fires Adventure

I'm fundraising for

For a person who is blind or has low vision, feeling isolated from others can be a what happens each day.  We’ve all been through lockdowns, and know how this can impact on our lives – being isolated is difficult.

Which is why I have joined the Seeing Eye Dogs: Bay of Fires Adventure. I will be raising vital funds for Seeing Eye Dogs to help make a life-changing difference to Australians who are blind or have low vision.

I’ll be stepping out of my comfort zone on a physically and emotionally challenging journey, trekking for four-days along the spectacular Bay of Fires to support Vision Australia Seeing Eye Dogs to breed, care for and train pups to become dog guides.

These dogs can transform a person’s life. They are not just a a beautiful companion.  Having the confidence to go out into the community, to places they cannot normally access, to have the chance to be independent, these are enormous issues that can all be overcome with these magnificent highly trained dogs.

Training and caring of a Seeing Eye Dog comes at a cost of around $50,000. There is a lot of volunteer support, but the costs for each dog is still high.  That is why I am raising funds. To help with the life changing work of Seeing Eye dogs.

If you'd like to support my efforts for people who are blind or have low vision, please donate to my page. It would mean the world to donate to my page. It would mean the world to me!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me with a donation. I have surpassed my original goal of $3,000! So I am setting myself a greater challenge and have increased my goal to $4,000. With your support every dollar raised will help Seeing Eye Dogs breed, care and train more Seeing Eye Dog puppies. Thank you so much! X

Hi Viv, I am a friend of Di and was really inspired by you when she was telling us what you are doing to fund raise for the Vision Impaired. My mum is legally blind as well and I know of the struggles that she faced. Keep up the great work, you are a real inspiration. Regards. Margaret
