How to ask your employer to dollar-match fundraising

A great way to supercharge your fundraising efforts for 100K Your Way is to ask your employer to support you. Many Australian businesses offer employee matched-giving programs, where they will pledge to match every dollar raised for a registered charity.  

If your employer doesn’t have a matched giving program, they may still be willing to donate to your fundraising page. The best way to get started is to ask! 

Who to ask

Depending on the business structure, you may have a Human Resources team, a People and Culture team, or a Corporate Responsibility (CSR) department. Reaching out to one of these teams is a good way to find out if your company has a program to support charitable fundraising and determine your best contact.

What you'll need

Companies need an ‘Authority to Fundraise’ letter, confirming your participation and Vision Australia’s charitable status. When you registered for 100K Your Way, we sent you an email which can be used as an Authority to Fundraise. 

If you need this to be reissued, please let us know by contacting fundraising.events@visionaustralia.org or 1300 84 74 66.  

If you wish to run any additional fundraising events to support your efforts (e.g. a public bake sale or asking a company to provide a raffle prize for an event), you will need a letter for that specific event, which we are happy to provide. 

Making a tax-deductible donation

 All donations to Vision Australia above $2 are tax deductible for an Australian company. Businesses can donate directly to your personal fundraising page and will receive a tax invoice via their registered email.

If a business wants to make a direct payment and arrange a tax-deductible invoice, please contact us.
