Meet Koa, the two-year old thriving with your support

Since 2023 ‘Koa’s Crew’ has been taking on 100K Your Way to support kids like two-year-old Koa, who has been blind with no light perception since birth. After his diagnosis at just four months old, Koa and his parents Jake and Ashleigh, started receiving tailored support from Vision Australia. This year Ashleigh was thrilled to share that Koa has made some incredible progress.

“He’s walking confidently, navigating his environment with more independence, and talking up a storm! His happy, cheeky personality continues to shine. One exciting milestone is that Koa has received his first cane and is starting to get familiar with it. We’re still working on finding the perfect name for it!” shares Ashleigh.

“Thanks to the dedication of Koa’s Vision Australia therapists, Koa is thriving and developing greater independence every day. Their support has been invaluable, and we are forever grateful for the positive impact they've had on Koa's life and our family,” she continues.

It’s families like this that donations support when you choose to complete or give to 100K Your Way. That is why Koa’s Crew are excited to be back for a third year, taking on the challenge again to raise funds and awareness with nearly 30 friends and family joining their team.

“It means the world to us when people decide to take on 100K Your Way and raise money for Vision Australia as the funds directly support families like ours who rely on these services. Having this support from the very start has a huge impact and makes all the difference in navigating a new diagnosis, especially at times when no NDIS funding is available. Every contribution helps ensure that this vital support can reach those who need it most.”
