Meet Luna as she takes on life with confidence and curiosity

For parents Sarah and Jake, nothing is more important than making sure their daughter Luna grows up knowing she is capable of anything. Thanks to events like Vision Australia's 100K Your Way, they have witnessed people like you dedicated to helping them achieve that.

Luna was born blind and has less than 8% usable vision. Her sight will continue to deteriorate over time due to multiple vision conditions. Her mum Sarah says this doesn't stop her from approaching the world with curiosity and courage, even when things aren't designed with her in mind.

"Luna is the heart of our family," says Sarah. "She's strong-willed, joyful, and endlessly brave. For someone who is blind, she has an incredible way of making everyone she meets feel seen and loved."

Fundraisers for Vision Australia like 100K Your Way are essential for ensuring that children like Luna get early intervention services as soon as they need it, supporting their development at every stage.

"When people take on 100K Your Way, it means so much to our family," says Sarah. "The sense of community is incredible and watching friends, family and even strangers raly together is deeply moving. It shows Luna and anyone who is blind or has low vision that they are surrounded by people who beleive in the and in a more inclusive future," she explains.

This year Jake, Sarah and Luna will be going for family outings to explore on foot and enjoy her newly learned skill of roller skating. You can support Luna with a donation or follow her family's lead by signing up to move 100km in April for 100K Your Way 2026.
