I'm fundraising for Vision Australia
Greg lost his eyesight in 2013 as a result of diabetic retinopathy. It was a very difficult period of adjustment and Greg couldn't believe there was a future where he could continue his beloved woodwork or work on the farm. A desperate call from Tracey to Vision Australia proved to be the start of his new future.
With training in mobility access, provision of aids to make life easier to navigate and an introduction to the Vision Australia woodwork trainers, Greg's new way of life opened up. Soon he was making furniture, fixing fences on the farm and after moving to Tasmania, he joined a Men's Shed where he rose to the role of Volunteer Shed Coordinator.
Greg's recent passing is devastating for all his family and friends but we are grateful for the skills he learnt with the assistance of Vision Australia, and we thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to give thanks for the amazing support Greg received from VA.
