Vision loss isn’t something that only happens to “other people.” It’s something our beautiful, brave Lucy lives with every single day.

Lucy is just six years old, and this April she’s taking on 100K Your Way for Vision Australia — moving 100km in her own determined, joyful way (yes, there will definitely be walking and cartwheeling involved!).

Over the past couple of years, Vision Australia has made a world of difference to our family. From connecting us with incredible specialists like orthoptists and occupational therapists, to helping us feel less alone in this journey, their support has opened doors we didn’t even know existed. The services Lucy has accessed would not have been possible for us without the funding raised through initiatives like this.

Lucy is choosing to give back — to help other children and families who are just beginning their journey with low vision. She wants them to feel supported, understood, and empowered, just like she does.

Vision Australia is working towards a future where vision loss never limits what’s possible — where every Australian living with low vision or blindness feels confident, included, and capable of living life their way.
